Callie's 1st Christmas

We had a great 1st Christmas with Callie! Here are a few photos from this Christmas... there are still more to come because we are headed to Mimi and Poppy's house tomorrow! We had so much fun watching Callie experience her first Christmas. Our favorite gift was getting to experience Christmas with a child! Don't get me wrong... we are so thankful for all of your gifts and cards! It was just amazing to see her little face taking it all in. She loved all of her new toys but seemed to be more captivated by the wrapping paper, tissue, and bows. Most of my day was making sure she didn't eat any of those! Our Christmas started early. We celebrated Paw Paw's 65th birthday last week and also celebrated Christmas with Aunt Kim and cousin Cheney. We celebrated our family Christmas on Christmas eve. Santa sure did spoil Miss Callie! It was so fun! We woke up Christmas morning and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's first (Mike's parents). We enjoyed yummy pancakes for breakfast and spent some fun family time with G & G and Uncle Matt, Aunt Mac, and Uncle Nathan. We are so excited that Callie will have her first cousin on the Matwijecs side in May! Yay for Uncle Matt and Aunt Mac! I will have to get some more family photos from Grandma and Grandpa to post. Next stop on Christmas was Nana and Paw Paw's. We enjoyed a yummy lunch and a play time with the cousins (Madeline, Abigail, Jack, and Will), Aunt Ang, Uncle Jay, Aunt Julie, Mema, Nana, and Paw Paw! We also got to see Aunt Joyce and Uncle Gerald (Mema's sister and brother). We missed Aunt Pam and Uncle Johnnie but will go visit them soon! Proud of my Aunt for being so strong! She is more than halfway through her chemo treatments! Callie and Will were so funny playing by the Christmas tree. I can't wait till they can walk and talk. I am sure Miss Priss will run the show! Sweet Will... he is such a cuddlebug! Callie is so lucky to be near family. I am so grateful for that. We are off to Somerville tomorrow! Enjoy our photos!

Callie and Santa

We took Callie to see Santa for the first time tonight. I figured on a Monday night, the line wouldn't be too long. It wasn't. We were like 4th in line so you would think it would move fast. Well with the moms combing the hair and making sure the kids were ready to see Santa plus the time it took for the screaming kids to calm down and smile for the camera, it was a longer wait than I expected. I was a little nervous letting Callie sit on Santa's lap with all the germs from the previous kiddos (remember I am now a germiphobe), but I had to forget about my germ fears and let her see Santa! It's her first Christmas! I would feel bad if she didn't get to tell Santa what she wanted personally ;) I let Mike take her up to Santa and I pushed the stroller around to the front so I could make funny faces at her and get her to smile (yep one of those moms I mentioned at the beginning), but she didn't cry and even gave us a little smirk. Then the lady at the register had to pull the pictures up on the screen for us to pick our favorite. I don't think I even looked at them... I just said, "yeah that looks good" and motioned for Mike to get Callie the heck off Santa's lap (the germiphobe was back.) Before I left Mike and Callie in line to wheel around to the front, I told him to please don't let Callie sit on Santa's lap if he smells of alcohol or looks googly eyed. I think Santa was ok and Mike said he didn't smell anything. I was just being a mom I guess, but you take a look at his eyes (if the scan isn't too small to see them)... here is Miss Priss with Santa!

Happy 6 Months Callie!!!

This past week Callie turned 6 months! Its hard to believe our baby girl is already 6 months! When we first brought her home from the hospital, I was anxious for her to start sleeping through the night, hold her head up, turn over, sit up, etc and now that she is flying through these milestones I find myself wanting time to just slow down. Before we know it, she is going to be crawling, walking and talking. Her doctor's visit went well. She is weighing in at about 12lbs and is 24.5 in. long. She is still in the 3rd percentile but I guess she will always be petite... look at her parents... well, I used to be petite anyways. But hey, I am below my pre pregnancy weight so I am happy about that! She is eating her oatmeal and fruits and veggies three times a day now! Yes, I am still breastfeeding! I have made it to my 6 month goal and plan on going as long as I can... hopefully through cold and flu season. I honestly can't believe I am still breastfeeding with all of the issues I have had but somehow, I have pushed through them. And it has been a big help having my sister and Jill to talk to about breastfeeding! What would I do without you lovely ladies?! We have rescheduled her 6 month photos to later this week since Mike was in DC last week. We want to get a good family photo to send out for our Christmas card. Gosh, Christmas is just around the corner! Crazy! We have to start baby proofing the house because she is going to be into everything very soon. I hope everyone is doing well. Check back soon for Callie's 6 month pictures!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! Callie was the cutest pumpkin! We had a blast at the pumpkin festival today in downtown Franklin and then took Callie trick or treating at Grandma and Grandpa's house. After that we ate Nana's yummy chilli and Callie, Mommy, and Nana went to Aunt Ang's and Uncle Jay's house to see the big kids trick or treat. Callie loves her cousins! Paw Paw and Daddy went to see the Preds play hockey. Here are a few pics from our day.

Callie loves the pups!

Callie really loves Harley and Chopper. Everytime she sees them she just giggles. She has started interacting with them more. She loves to grab at their face... of course we are right beside her and never leave her unattended with them. I am so glad that the pups are so good with her. I was worried about them being jealous of her. Now we just have to get Obie to like Callie. Obie is Grandma and Grandpa's puppy. He just gets too excited around her right now. She will also get to meet Mimi and Poppy's puppies soon too. They have a boxer and a boston terrier and are welcoming a new baby boxer into the family today! She is going to grow up with so many slobbery kisses! I love it. Of course we will have to teach her that not every dog is like ours and they may not like kids so she shouldn't ever go up and grab them.

Happy Halloween everyone! We will post pics of her in her Halloween costume tonight!
